There are exactly two bath towels in the bathroom. There is no room cleaning service until you’ve stayed 4 days. The room was spacious and meet our needs.
All the best restaurants, stadiums and ****** are walking distance…just go in with your expectations really low as far as your room - and hey, at least you get a fridge and a microwave/cooktop! Long story short: you can’t beat the location. Valet is $42/day, and the only hotel sponsored option to park your car. Staff was friendly, as were the incredible amount of homeless folks loitering nearby.
The 5th Street Arcade is neat to walk through…do take the time. Gone, apparently, are the days of a hot prepared breakfast - rather there are pre-made Jimmy Dean sandwiches thrown in warmers. The breakfast area on the 2nd floor is sad - a cool old room, with stained glass reflecting former Colonial Hotel, haphazardly updated with crooked lighting. An oddly always on gas fireplace, supposedly run by a timer, that was always red hot to the touch - seemingly in a battle with the A/C system. Peeling mirror, filthy track for the closet doors, entire faucet moves when you lift handle, and tons of scuff marks on the walls. The room was ‘clean’ but plenty of little things that just shouldn’t be left as they are.
I’d imagine that this place was pretty nice when it went through its big rehab into a Residence Inn, but boy it needs some help. Read through other reviews and you’ll see take of worn out and not so great rooms - they’re right. Designed from the original bank vaults the "Vaults" at The 9 is the perfect private setting to host an event and will create an urban historic feel to give your guests a variety of experiences, or The Mint Ballroom will inspire your event experience as an unforgettable memory.Ġ.21km from Quicken Loans Arena Cool old hotel, not so lovingly tended to it seems.
